It 2018 and I have the same question as the previous guy in 2015. I have a high end bathroom sink with a white porcelain bowl under marble top. I am sealing the drain flange. Delta says to use silicone which is a crazy mess to clean up. Do they mean clear or white silicone with a white sink and brushed stainless drain flange.

I have been using silicone more and more over the past few years. I still use putty for g.d. flanges and kitchen sink usually, unless there is a lot of corrosion underneath or for some other reason I cant think of. Bath sinks I tend to use silicone on. Dont use g.e. silicone. I love the dap 100% silicone. Not a fan of the dap kwik seal tubes.
